calling all musicians….

Since I just reminded a musical blogger about the fact that the Cars took advantage of the lead guitar from “I Will”  from the  Beatles’  epomymously titled “White Album” & using it on “My Best Friend’s Girl”, I suppose I might as well also break some more big news to people.   This morning it just occurred to me that the beginning of B.J. Thomas’  “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” is merely a slowed down, mellowed out version of the  main riff from the Ventures’ “Walk, Don’t Run”.  Okay so Beatle George took quite a good solid trouncing for the connection between the Chiffons’ “He’s So Fine” & his “My Sweet Lord”.   Has anyone ever taken a good listen to Beatle John’s “Working Class Hero” & a certain folkie oldie, the name of which escapes me right now, by Joan Baez.  Yo, they all steal.  Every once in a while, I manage to catch things like this.  The theme from “Gilligan’s Island” can even be sung to the tune of  “Stairway to Heaven”  by Led Zeppelin.   Herman’s Hermits’ “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat?” has music in it taken from “Gilligan’s Island’s incidental music.   Led Zeppelin’s “Achilles Last Stand”  starts out with a direct mooch from the beginning of “Get Smart”.
